MOUNTAIN DIVIDE HOUSE

The Mountain Divide House is a communal home designed to serve groups of entrepreneurs who wish to live in a communal and collaborative setting when visiting the Techture Startup Ranch. The visible "divide" which projects out of the home is an homage to the nearby continental divide of the Rocky Mountains. Just as the continental divide separates the east and west coastal plains, the divide within the home separates public and private spaces. Four suited bedrooms are placed to the north of the divide receiving subdued ambient lighting. Whereas the public spaces of the home are located south of divide where a dual skin greenhouse facade allows ample natural daylight to bathe the homes interior spaces. The home is designed to step down the mountainside and each step become a new delineation of space. Starting at the highest point on the public side of the home, the program flows from a collaborative workspace, to a shared kitchen, to a grand living room, down to a games and rec room at the base.
